What is MS point

MS Paint is a simple graphics/drawing editor which is available in Windows OS version. You can use it in any version like XP, Window 7, Windows 8.

 

If you pay attention to MS Paint, it is divided into many parts, menu, toolbar and access bar, you can see in the screen shot.

 

Introduction of user interface 

 

1. MS Paint Button

MS Paint Button Its function is to select different options and export as per your requirement. You get it in Quick Access Toolbar.

 

2. Quick Access Toolbar

Quick Access Toolbar MS Paint Using this, you can use MS Paint in speed. For example, the tool which you have to use by going to the menu, you can use it in a shortcut way with the help of this tool.

 

3. Title bar

Title bar MS Paint is at the topmost part. Its function is only to show the name of your file. If you do not save it, then it will show as “untitled”.

 

4. Ribbon

You can see that in the screenshot I have given, it is surrounded by blue color in which you get shape, color, eraser, spray paint. This is called ribbon.

 

5. Scroll bar Scroll bar In MS Paint there are scroll bars on both sides of the drawing area. One bar is vertically, which is used to move the canvas up and down and the other bar is horizontal, which is used to move the canvas left and right.

 

6. Status bar

 

The Status bar is just below the drawing area. In the right corner below this bar there is a tool called “Zoom Level” with the help of which the canvas can be zoomed in and out. And in the left corner the pixel size of the drawing is shown and next to it the width and height of the canvas are shown.

 

7. Drawing Page Area

 

This is your page which you can paint and prepare any graphic by drawing, this is also called canvas.

 

1. New It is used to take a new page.

 

2. Open It is used to open an existing MS Paint file.

 

3. Save It is used to save the currently opened Paint file in the hard disk.

 

4. Save As Its function is also to save the file but with its help you can change the format and save it in some other path.

 

5. Print It is used to print the currently opened Paint file.

 

6. From Scanner or Camera It is used when you want to insert a picture from a scanner or camera in MS Paint.

 

7. Send in E-mail It is used to mail the current Paint file to someone with the help of Outlook.

 

8 .Set as Desktop background: This is used to set the current paint file as desktop wallpaper.

Note: If our file is not saved in the hard disk, then first you will have to save the save dialog box. Only after saving can you save it as background.

 

9.Properties: This is used to see the attribute, unit, color, width and height of the paint file.

 

10. About Paint: This is used to know about MS Paint. In this, you will see the version of your paint and the name of the operating system.

 

11. Exit: This is used to close the open paint.

 

Description of home Menu

 

In the home menu, you will find 5 groups which are as follows

 

1. Clipboard

2. Image

3. Tools

4. Shapes

5. Colors

 

Clipboard has three options.

 

1. Cut: Through this, you can use any part of the drawing after selecting it. As soon as you click on cut after selecting, the part of your selected drawing area will be removed and go to the clipboard, which you can paste on the page with the help of paste.

 

2. Copy: After selecting any part of the drawing, on copying it, it will be duplicated and go to the clipboard, which can be brought to the page by pasting.

 

3. Paste: is used to paste the cut and copied text, image, drawing. There is another option inside this, Paste From. When you click on it, a box will open for you to select an image. To select an image, click on Open, then your image will be inserted in Paint.

 

 Image In this you will get 4 options

 

1. Select: Through this you use it to select in rectangular and free form on the drawing page.

2. Crop): This option will work only after selection ( Through this you use it to crop any selection so that the part which is selected, only that part remains after cropping.

 

3. Resize Through this you can change the size of any selection and can also use skew.

 

4. Rotate It is used to rotate any selected drawing, object.

 

Tools Inside this you will get 7 options which are as follows-

 

1. Pencil: Through this you can use to draw free form line which works according to the selected size. Shortcut key to decrease the size is Ctrl+ Numpad -, shortcut key to increase the size is Ctrl + Numpad +.

 

2. Paint Bucket Through this you can use to fill color in the drawing. If you left click to left fill then it will be foreground color fill, if you right click then background color fill will be done.

 

 3. Text This is used to write text on the page. When you start writing text, a menu will appear in it, whose notes you will get to read at the end.

 

4. Eraser This is used to erase the drawn object in free form. The same shortcut keys are used to increase or decrease its size which are used to increase or decrease the pencil size.

 

5. Color Picker This is used to copy any created color. Like, if you have created a color and filled it in an object which is not in your color box and you want to fill the same color in another object, then you can pick the color you want through this and then fill it with the paint bucket.

 

6.Magnifier: This is used to zoom in and view the page.

 

7.Brushes: With the help of this option, you can create attractive designs using different brushes.

 

Shapes: Inside this, you will get 3 options whose functions are as follows.

 

1.Shapes: Inside this, you will get many types of shapes which you can draw and fill with color.

 

2. Shape Outline: Through this, you can make the outline of any object thick and thin. But keep in mind that it should remain selected after drawing or you will have to make the outline thick and thin before drawing.

 

3. Shape Fill: Through this, before drawing any of your objects, you can select what color should be filled after drawing, i.e. solid color, water color etc. First click on the shape you want to draw, then go to Shape Fill and select the style you want to fill in it.

 

Colors: Under this you will get 5 options which are as follows-

 

1. Size: Through this you can increase the size of pencil or eraser. If you want to increase the size given in it, then pressing the plus of the numpad along with the control button will increase the size and pressing the minus with the control will decrease it.

 

2. Color 1: This is the Foreground color. You will keep the color selected from this and that color is used to fill in any object from the paint bucket.

 

3. Color 2 This is the background color which is the color of the page. Whatever color is selected in this, when erased with the eraser, the same color will start appearing on your page.

 

4. Color Palate In this box, you will find many colors which you use to fill in any object.

 

5. Edit Colors Through this, you can create colors according to your choice and after creating the color, you can keep it in your color palette box.

 

Description of View Menu

 

Inside this, you will find three groups which are Zoom, Show or Hide, Display respectively.

 

1. Zoom In is used to view the page in a larger size.

 

2. Zoom Out is used to view the page in a smaller size.

 

3. 100% Through this, you can view the zoomed or zoomed out page in 100% size.

 

Show or Hide

 

1. Ruler Through this, you use to bring and hide your ruler bar.

 

2. Grid lines Through this you can use it to view the page like grid lines. It is used to hide and bring this view.

 

3. Status bar Through this you can use it to hide and show the status bar.

 

Display

 

1. Full Screen Through this you can use it to view your drawing in full screen.

 

2. Thumbnail Through this you can use it to show and hide thumbnails.

 

Description of Text Menu

 

Inside this you will find two groups which are Font, Background respectively.

 

Font Under this you will get options to style your text.

 

1. Font Family With its help, you can use it to change the style of the selected text or paragraph.

 

2. Font Size It is used to make the size of the text smaller or bigger. If you want to make a single paragraph or word smaller or bigger, then first select it and only then change the font size.

 

3. Bold Ctrl+B is used to make the selected text bold.

 

4. Italic Ctrl+I is used to make the selected text italic.

 

5. Underline Ctrl+U is used to underline the selected text.

 

6. Strike Through is used to put a cut mark in the middle of the selected text.

 

Inside Background you will get two options which are as follows

 

1. Opaque If you use this, you will see a background

color while writing the text, that is, the text will be written in a box

 

2. Transparent Through this you can make the text transparent, there will be no background behind it.
